2008 Award Winners - 1Distinguished Legislator Award

Senator Ted Kennedy presented with DDD’s “Distinguished Legislator” award.

DDD was pleased to honor Senator Ted Kennedy with its “Distinguished Legislator” award at the 2008 CEC Convention in Boston. The Kennedy family name has been synonymous with advocacy for persons with developmental disabilities since the 1960s, when President John F. Kennedy was one of the first national public officials to speak openly about the topic. Since that time Senator Ted Kennedy has continued this advocacy, strongly supporting full federal funding of IDEA.
